One full week without COFFEE and I’m still alive ! :) AMAZING

Would say that all my clothes feel a lot looser, not the weight so much as the inches. Great !

Way to go Norman! Going off coffee is tough. I’ve been enjoying the cooking. I’m learning to season my food differently and am blown away by the huge amount of sodium that is in “prepared” food. I’m finding food more interesting again seasoning it my way.

OK, I’m 40 years old and I bought my first cookbook. ‘The Paleo Diet Cookbook’, So far, it is actually a good read… then again, I have nothing to compare it too.

I love roasted vegies – my new favourite thing. I keep them on hand for smacks! My dog Chloe loves them too!
Nice to be using less salt.

  • Sue

Roasting veggies totally adds a different taste to them – no need to add as much “extras” to make them taste good!

  • Sue

Are there lots of good recipes in it?

  • Coach Dee

Congratulations Chris – this makes you a “foodie”! It is a good cookbook, especially for those starting out on Paleo. If you are interested in a little more variety I recommend Everyday Paleo as well. See how you like this and I can get you more info later if you wish ;)

I am so happy that you guys are enjoying some of my tasty tricks! Remember as the weather warms up roasting veggies flips seamlessly to the barbecue ;)

Sarah Dayman uses this cookbook a lot, you should chat with her, or check out her blog.

Just wanted to share my experience. So I was nervous with the timing of the Nutritiion challenge because I had a fit test for my dragonboat team in April. I was worried that I would still feel sluggish/weak etc. Plus, working 12 hours shifts and giving up coffee/chocolate has been a challenge for me. Well…I just had my fit test and I KILLED IT! We had a test in January and I was only able to do ONE strict pull-up. I completely shocked myself and my team when I did ELEVEN this time around. No bands. Even my bench press improved. My team is noticing more definition in my abs and arms (asian girls don’t usually get big arms, but I’m working on that.). I’m the second smallest person on my team and am very please to be the second strongest girl. (the first strongest has 25 lbs on me… I plan on taking her down). I know it’s because I’m crossftting now, but I’m also attributing it to Paleo. Lovin’ it. I found that eating half an avocado with my pre-workout meal help give me a boost.

PS: everydaypaleo and Mark’s daily apple has good recipes.

Congrats on your 11 pull-ups. Way to go! I also like the everyday paleo site. Lots of really great recipes.
