The Plans:

Paleo:

The Paleo approach is that the human body has not evolved to handle foods introduced in the last few thousand years and that we are best served by following a diet that our hunter/gatherer ancestors would have eaten. A diet of meats, vegetables, some fruit, nuts and seeds with no dairy, grains, beans, or processed sugars.

Whole Foods:

The whole foods approach is simple. Eat real food, made from real ingredients, cooked fresh with the minimum of processing. Pretty much anything that you could grow or raise on your own is allowed on this program, while

    Hey Everyone,

Lots of people have been asking me about the before/after pics and measurements. Since prizes are being awarded by draw, you can take your before pics anytime between now and the 21st, same with your measurements. We need to get your after pic and letter in within 1 week of the end of the contest to be eligible to win. I’ll keep updating http://www.alchemycrossfit.com as we go, so check back to see what’s new!

Another Question in regards to the before/after pics and measurements: Which measurements and what type of pics? As far as measurements go we would like these ones: R Calf (widest part), R Thigh (8 inches up from knee), Hips(widest part), Waist (at belly button), Chest (at nipple line), Shoulders(widest part), and R Bicep (widest part). For the pics it would be great to get a front, back, and side view, as well as one casual one that you like both before and after.

A few people have emailed me to ask if they have to be members of the gym to take part – the answer is NO! Everyone is welcome to take part in the nutrition challenge – if you are from out of province some of the prizes may not be appplicable, but you’re still welcome to join and follow along on the meal plan.

  • Lisa

Day three, and so far so good! When I did my grocery shopping for the Paleo plan, the woman in front of me said it was the healthiest check-out she’s ever seen…and it made me feel so good! I can’t wait to see what the plan does for me and my husband!

  • Cindy L

Okay, it’s day 5 and I’m sticking to the plan so far…but I’m hungry and why is it when I say I can’t have something, IT’S EVERYWHERE, tempting me and calling to me. I stuck to the outside of the grocery store but I could still hear those dam crappy carbs calling my name…I will get through this to become healthier and leaner. I appreciate all the support from the ACF staff and fellow contestants. You all rock!!!

  • Cindy L

This is an awesome challenge. It’s great having the meal plans and recipes to give me some variety and good flavors. I know this week and the next I’m getting used to the changes both in type of food and quantity and at times it’s tough but holy cow, is it worth it. I know we didn’t submit our weights, but I still looked at mine last Sun. Today when I stepped on the scale 5 pounds!!!!! were missing. Paleo is working big time for me. This is the motivation I need to put up with my occasional hunger. Not to mention herbal tea.
    THANK YOU ACF…again!!!!

  • http://www.adammorden.com Adam Morden

Congratulations Cindy! that is awesome! Thanks for being so focused and
positive about the challenge I’m really happy you are seeing and feeling the
    results so soon =)

  • Karey H

Okay, I didn’t do too good on the first week of the challenge but Monday of week two – I stuck to it! Definitely the 5 burpees if I cheat bet with Craig is paying off. Cross fingers for week two! Hopefully I can reap the benefits!

  • http://www.adammorden.com Adam Morden

Way to keep working at it Karey! Great job starting the week strong! You
will see huge benefits by sticking to the plan.

  • Karey H

Just in case anyone is having a chocolate craving and is on the Paleo meal plan; here’s a great treat that tastes awesome: Paleo Fudge Balls

Walnuts: 1 cup; Dates: 1 1/3 cup; Cocoa 4 tbsp; Vanilla 1 tsp (I sometimes add a bit more)

But everything in a food processor/magic bullet, roll into balls (about the size of a ping pong ball) and enjoy. Should make about 14. I like to put them in the fridge or freezer first and get them nice an cold before I eat them.

I’m not a person that cooks so if I can make these they not only must be easy to do they must be awesome – or I wouldn’t make them. They really fill my desert/chocolate craving.

Anyway, just thought I would pass this on.

    Happy Nutrition Challenge everyone!

    Karey
