    My CrossFit story:

I was training for obstacle races and realized my workouts shouldn’t be about looking good but rather should focus on getting more work done in less time. I found CrossFit and dove deep into YouTube videos. The next day I spent about 40 minutes going through the benchmark WOD Angie (100 pull ups 100 push ups 100 sit ups and 100 squats) and never looked back.

What gets me ‘jacked up’ about coaching:

Watching people leave it all on the floor. Some people are naturally gifted athletes but anyone can work their ass off and become incredibly fit. Watching members working their absolute hardest to improve themselves everyday always motivates me.

    Duncan McNeill....

    • Loves to sound like a scientist as often as he can
    • Frequently binge eats
    • Super happy to be here 100% of the time

    My CrossFit story:

I thought I was excelling at fitness doing my regular beach body workouts, I could not have been more wrong! Joining CrossFit allowed me to push my level of fitness in every aspect. I have become stronger, more athletic, and increased my endurance. After losing my competitive fire from sports after school, CrossFit has brought it back and I love coming into the gym every day and competing with all our great athletes.

What gets me ‘jacked up’ about coaching:

Nothing makes me more happy with seeing people accomplish something they would not have thought possible only months before. Everything from getting a benchmark PR, or being able to do a pushup without their knees. Seeing our Alchemists getting better is the best part of my day!!

    Broder McNeill....

    • Hate to run long distances
    • Enjoys the competitive side to CrossFit
    • Loves the social aspect of Alchemy and chatting with all the members

    My CrossFit story:

Alchemy CrossFit was suggested to me by a friend. I was only going to try for a month max. Years later, I am head coaching.

What gets me ‘jacked up’ about coaching:

Seeing the reaction of someone who just got a PR. Helping people reach their goals and see them be happy with their achievements. Meeting someone who comes in extremely eager to jump right in (a sponge for learning!).

    Craig Latendresse....

    • Competed with Team Alchemy twice in the CrossFit Games Regionals
    • Has medaled at provincial Powerlifting meets
    • Runs an awesome charity event each year that has raised thousands
    • Wishes he could grow more (but this is simply wishful thinking)
    • Has a mighty ginger beard

    My CrossFit story:

I had reached a plateau with my fitness and someone suggested I try CrossFit. I thought I was in shape but when I saw the level some of the individuals doing CrossFit were on, it inspired me to want to get there too. CrossFit gave me a better environment for working out - it's okay to push yourself and make some noise here!

What gets me ‘jacked up’ about coaching:

I love seeing the excitement and self-confidence in people that results from achieving their own CrossFit goals - no matter how large or small.

    Janet Ratcliff....

    • Attended the CrossFit Games Regionals
    • Is the loudest athlete at Alchemy. Her mid-workout battle cry is legendary
    • Is proud of her progression from not being able to do an overhead squat with a PVC pipe to now being able to do one at 95 lbs
    • Says one of her biggest achievements still is getting her first pull-up (A long time ago!)
